STEINBAUER’S microprocessors-controlled, “Intelligent Power Module”, works with your ECU and not against it, ensuring the factory ECU remains in control of the engines original safety settings. STEINBAUER module is designed to be easily and efficiently installed using original plug connectors.
These units work because in today’s world, most agricultural equipment manufacturers including John Deere, Case, New Holland, Agco, and others, use two different engine sizes to power dozens of different models in their line up. While they may charge $5,000-$25,000 to go from one weaker model to the next in terms of horsepower, most often the engine and cooling system is exactly the same. These major manufacturers use changes in injection timing to offer different levels of power. It is much more cost effective to manufacture eight machines with the same engine that can produce 450 horsepower, and electronically derate seven of those eight machines to offer less than 450, than it is to actually build eight totally different machines.
